The terminal is undergoing renovations in 2013 and 2014, and the food outlets are feeling the effects. Currently open are Bumbu, a southeast asian-style restaurant, and the fast-food outlet Hungry Jack’s. There are also temporary facilities which mean that no traveller should have to go without a much-needed cup of coffee. Some of the coming attractions include Giancarlo Cafe and Bar and Dome Cafe which will have views of planes landing and taking off.
There are two newsagents and duty free outlet in Darwin Airport. The newsagents are called News Travels and Runway News, and sell magazines, books, gifts and travel paraphernalia. The duty free outlet sells the usual alcohol, jewellery, perfumes and luxury goods, and is located after security in the international Departures Lounge.
